Bryo (BRight & YOung) is a network of young ambitious people who want to bring their ideas into business and become successful startups.

Bryo is a 2 year program that guides you through problems, challenges and decisions. Sometimes with individual coaching, sometimes in a group, but always with great results.

The curriculum is divided in three years, 180 ECTS credits or 6 semesters that make up the body of the program. During the first year students are provided with general but necessary basic insights and skills to create complete interactive 3D environments. The choice and the order of our lessons are based upon the workflow in a typical production: from concept art we move on to 3D modeling and animation, after which we add programming code for interaction and graphical effects.

After the first year students have to choose between the major Game Development or the major 3D Arts. The final semester is reserved for a work placement.

From the academic year 2010-2011, all courses will be offered in English to a group of international students. From the very start of their higher education, students will be able to expand their international network, enjoy guest lectures by key industry speakers, go on international study tours in the States and Europe, enter worldwide competitions, go on international internships and expose their work in the most renowned books on digital art.

New Media and Communication Technology – Howest

This programme offers a specialist training in new media and communication technology. Well-designed soft- and hardware are the tools to design user-friendly applications like e-commerce, websites, online (Flash)games and data visualisations. Bit by bit students get to designing virtual communities for business and leisure online. Their mobile device is fully tuned according to their own interest and liking, they master Web 3.0, any internet application is a challenge.

SeaMedia: Internet TV – by the young, for the young.

Sea Media is a 2Seas EU Interreg 4A innovative project to develop an Internet Television (IPTV) Youth Service in the European Union’s Two 2 Seas region – Belgium, UK and Northern France.

Collaborating cross-border, young people will work with professional broadcasters and academics to create programmes suitable for both internet and traditional television broadcast. Those involved will be empowered to produce, edit and develop their content. There will also be opportunities for the screening of programmes and videos from other projects and sources. The online service created in SeaMedia will promote the common heritage of the region by addressing cultural citizenship, cross-border identity and heritage activities (including other European Union projects) as a source of content for its programming. The SeaMedia project is managed by the University of East Anglia, based in Norwich in the UK.

Other partners are the EPIC Studios, also in Norwich, HOWEST University College in Belgium, and West Flanders production company, Focus TV, and two major entertainment venues – DeKreun in Kortrijk and Le Grand Mix from Northern France. This project is part financed by the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund

SeaMedia partner Howest University College is pleased to be able to support Bizcamp, with the help of this project. Howest students trying their hand at small business projects and dreaming of starting their own companies one day can surely benefit from the learning, presenting and networking opportunities available to them at Bizcamp. SeaMedia Howest, which oversees the project’s” impact” channel, knows the importance of spreading the entrepreneurial spirit throughout Europe and intends to highlight the efforts of Bizcamp with a video report. Hopefully other European regions and countries will see the video and adopt the Bizcamp concept themselves!

Industrial Design Center is an open knowledge center and a communication platform between the industry and the education, research and development programs of the Howest University West Flanders in Belgium. It works in close association with the bachelor course Industrial Product Design and the master course Industrial Design Engineering offered through Howest. The center aims to be an authority on high & low end prototyping, lighting, creativity, sustainability, humanity and materials & connections.
