What is Bizcamp?
A free “un-conference” organized by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs which brings together about 100 people twice a year in Belgium.

Why Bizcamp?
As entrepreneurs, every once in a while we need to take a step back from the daily grind, to take a fresh look at our work. We also have loads to learn from our peers – and we have loads to share with them as well. Last but not least, it’s a huge pleasure to spend an entire day with a hundred of like-minded people.

By the way, people who are just considering becoming entrepreneurs are welcome too

What’s an un-conference?
Unlike a usual – boring – conference, there’s no set agenda, no invited superstar speakers. There are also no neckties (though name tags are very practical, so we keep those). Most important part, however, is that you – the participant – are also the speaker.

I’ll sign up to attend, but not sure about talking.
About ¼ of the attendees also give talks. It can be daunting, so we in no way insist on every one speaking. So, don’t worry about just attending – and do sign up.

Once you have signed up, give the idea of a talk one last chance – the day does not work without it!

It’s free, so… what’s the catch?
You take the main cost of a “proper” conference away (the flown-in “experts”) and get sponsors to cover the venue and other expenses – so no catch.

I hate listening to Sales Pitches
So do we – every single one of us. Life is too short. So, Rule Number One at Bizcacmp is: no commercial speeches!

Rule Number Two: if you don’t like the speech, walk out and go find something more interesting

You’ll typically hear speeches on lessons your fellow entrepreneurs learned while building their businesses or freelance practices, good advice on marketing, financial, legal and other aspects of running a business, and more. We even had a guy with a guitar once!
